Types of Packaging Boxes that can Transfer your Brand to Build

Packaging Boxes

Remember how you felt when you first got your iPhone removing the plastic seal and touching the smooth white packaging boxes?

The first time you touched the box, you could already tell how important, high-quality, and important this device was. This is not a fluke! Apple carefully planned how to package its product to fit its brand promise of top-notch product innovation and customer experience. The way a product is packaged has a significant impact on how valuable it is seen to be. However, the packaging industry has mostly stayed the same over the past few years, especially compared to the constant changes in portable technology.  With all the different packaging and boxes available today, choosing the right one for your product can take time. Let’s look at some of the significant types of packaging you can use to improve your product and customer experience.

Guide on different types of packaging boxes to choose

Paper board boxes

Paperboard is made from paper and is both light and robust. Cutting and moving around to make different shapes and structures are easy. Because of these things, it is an excellent choice for personalized packaging. It is accessible by turning wood fibers or recycled paper scraps into a pulp and then bleaching it. Paperboard custom box packaging comes in different grades, and each grade is suitable for different packaging.

Paperboard from SBS, or solid bleached sulfate, can be best used to package cosmetics, medicines, milk and juice, frozen food, and more. Paperboard packaging made of kraft or CUK (coated unbleached kraft) is a good choice for people who like the natural look of recycled paper. This can also be available for similar packaging tasks. Kraft is often accessible because it is less resistant to moisture. This makes it less good for packaging food or frozen goods. With the right mix of design choices, paperboard packaging can look high-end without costing as much as high-end packaging.

Cardboard boxes

Corrugated boxes are just another name for what most people call cardboard. Many probably think of corrugated boxes used to make large shipping, shoe, and storage boxes as “cardboard.” Many must learn that corrugated custom-printed boxes come in different types based on how long and strong they last. But it’s easy to tell what kind of corrugated material something is. How do you somehow figure out what it is?

It’s easy to tell what a corrugated packaging box’s material is. It has three layers of paper:

A liner on the outside

A liner on the inside

A corrugated medium (also known as fluting)

The corrugated board is made from the majority of recycled paper. This paper is therefore made on large, high-precision machines called corrugators. As a source of pulp fiber, these types of boards can be used over and over again.  There are single-faced, double-faced (single-wall), twin-wall, and triple-wall corrugated boards. They can make different packaging with different looks, functions, and strengths. Corrugated packaging is available by cutting and folding the board into different sizes and shapes. Thus, corrugated board packaging can also be accessible for retail packaging, pizza delivery boxes, small packages of consumer goods, and so on.

Rigid boxes

You’ve always wondered what kind of box they use to ship iPhones and high-end items like Rolex, Tiffany and Marc Jacobs. You think it’s available out of cardboard, but you’re not sure because it’s strong and looks expensive. A rigid box is made of this kind of cardboard. A rigid box is made out of a highly compressed paperboard that is four times thicker than the paperboard that is best for making a standard folding carton. The most straightforward real-world example of rigid custom boxes for wholesale is the box that Apple’s iPhones and iPads come in. These boxes are made up of two pieces that fit together.

Rigid boxes are more expensive than paperboard and corrugated boxes. Rigid boxes are often made by hand and don’t need expensive dies or a lot of heavy machinery. Because they don’t collapse, they also take up more space during shipping, which can easily lead to higher shipping costs. These packaging boxes are often available to sell makeup, jewelry, electronics, and high-end luxury clothing. Adding platforms, windows, lids, hinges, compartments, domes, and embossing to a rigid box is easy.

Chipboard boxes

These packaging boxes are used in the electronic, medical, food, cosmetic, and beverage industries. It is a type of paperboard that is made from used paper. It is easy to cut, fold, and shape. It’s an excellent way to pack your goods without spending much money.

If your business sells heavy items, you can only use chipboard packaging if chipboard sheets are a light material for many grocery items like cereal, crackers, tissue boxes, and so on. Also, chipboard can quickly weaken and change color and size if stored in a place with a lot of moisture.

Poly bags

A poly bag is made from a thin, flexible plastic film fabric. It is also called a pouch or a plastic bag. It is a common type of packaging that can hold many different things, like food, flowers, trash, chemicals, magazines, etc. Poly bags are solid and lightweight, and they can be used over and over again. Since poly bags are easy to make in terms of their structure, they can be made in any design, style, or size and still be cheap.

Most poly bags have security features like tape attachments, holes for hanging, and handles for carrying so that the products inside are safe and look good to the customer.

Bags sealed with foil

Most coffee and tea come in bags that are sealed with aluminum foil. Why? It keeps the products dense to keep their flavor, stops bacteria from getting in, and helps them last longer. Not only are foil-sealed bags used to store food, but they are also used to store bedding and clothing.

In this process, the oxygen is taken out of the bag to keep the fabric tight and secure and stop fungi and other bacteria from growing. Nuts, cereals, smoked fish, cheese, and cured meats are all put in foil bags to keep them from going bad.
