The FBISD Moves From a Traditional School Model to a Digital School Model

Across the United States, a number of school districts are making the shift from a traditional school model to a “digital school model.” The FBISD is one of the leading examples of this new model, as it has just migrated to a new platform that integrates technology into the classroom. A team of educators and administrators explains how the FBISD is using the new software to transform the way students learn.

Fine arts education

Throughout the years, the Fort Bend Independent School District Department of Fine Arts has won many regional and state awards. Thousands of students attend fine arts courses every week. Through these classes, students learn how to improve their creative abilities, critical thinking skills, and communication skills. They also learn to apply art elements and design principles to their projects. In addition, students are prepared to perform in public performances and exhibitions.

The elementary school music curriculum is designed to help students develop a love of the arts and a desire to learn and perform. Students will participate in ensembles, as well as vocal and instrumental classes. Music specialists write the music curriculum, which allows students to explore the creative process while developing their musical skills.

Career and technical education (CTE)

Approximately 21,000 students in Fort Bend ISD are taking part in a career and technical education course. Most programs offer end-of-program industry-recognized certificates. As you may have guessed, many programs require students to upgrade existing skills. These include business and industry, architecture, health science, information technology, science, and the arts.

As the name suggests, the Career and Technical Education department focuses on preparing students for post-secondary education and the workforce. There are many options, including internships, job shadowing, and other activities designed to give students a feel for the career they are considering.

As a department, the Fort Bend ISD CTE department has taken a number of steps to make its programs and services more effective. These include evolving attitudes and skill sets, real world applications, and innovative approaches to education. One example is the James Reese Career and Technical Center. This facility boasts special-designed equipment and spaces for students to work with.

82 campuses

Known as the eighth largest school district in the state of Texas, Fort Bend ISD has 82 campuses across the state. The district serves more than 76,000 students in grades PreK-12. In addition to its 51 elementary schools, Fort Bend ISD also includes 15 middle schools. Fort Bend ISD is also home to a variety of magnet programs. Some of these programs were shuttered due to low enrollment rates.

Fort Bend ISD offers career and technical education programs that expose students to real world experiences. The programs teach students about various career paths while also focusing on evolving attitudes and skills. This approach is supported by internships and guest speakers.

Fort Bend ISD is also recognized for its fine arts program, which won the school district three H-E-B Excellence in Education awards. The district also earned an A grade in graduation rates and college readiness index. In the future, the district plans to increase safety and compensation for its staff.

FBISD Skyward is a platform for students and educators to communicate, collaborate, and share information. It’s also used by schools for financial and academic management.

Skyward is used by the Fort Bend Independent School District in Texas. This school district is committed to academic excellence and provides students with resources to help them succeed. They offer four programs, including the AP program for high school students majoring in specific academic subjects.

The Skyward system allows teachers to share important information with parents. It also gives teachers a place to identify and address the needs of their students. It’s also easy to use. It’s available on iOS and Android devices.

Special education students

Fortunately, the Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) has a plethora of resources for families with special needs children. They provide a variety of instructional opportunities and a continuum of support including in-class support, accommodations, external support, modifications, supplemental measures, and online instruction.

The District has an educational innovation of its own, a streamlined system to identify and serve students who qualify for special education services. As part of their regular education referral process, the District has developed a variety of procedures for campus officials and parents to review progress and make decisions about compensatory services for students with disabilities.

The District’s Special Education Administration Procedures (SPECPs) are a handy reference guide for parents looking to ensure their child is receiving the best possible education. The Special Education Information Center (SEIC) has a wealth of resources for families. It also provides a range of interactive features and educational opportunities to enhance the relationships between schools and families.
