National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched the CUET Syllabus 2023 on the official website for all the topics. The subjects and patterns for Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) have been updated by University Grants Commission (UGC). The CUET exam is conducted two times a year for twenty-seven subjects. All the information regarding CUET Syllabus 2023 should be in the knowledge of the candidates who are interested and preparing to get enrolled in one of the colleges of 45 central universities taking part in the exam. 

The board has recently replaced the CUCET name with CUET. The CUET Exam syllabus and the current exam pattern can be quickly and directly downloaded by visiting the official portal. Test takers are required to understand better the main subjects and the below given crucial information to prepare and crack the entrance exam.

  • A single-stage test with objective-type questions is conducted by CUET. 
  • The form of all the questions will be of MCQ type.

CUET Exam Pattern 2023

Learning about the exam pattern allows the aspirants to prepare efficiently for the examination. It is always beneficial for the candidates to prepare for the examination according to the pattern. You must always keep in mind the below-given instructions while attempting the exam:

  • 5 marks are dedicated for each correct answer.
  • For each wrong answer, there will be a penalty of one mark.

Revised CUET Exam Pattern

Some revisions are made by NTA in the CUET Syllabus & Exam Pattern. Candidates can refer to the points stated below. 

  • The CUET (UG) Exam 2023 will now be conducted by NTA in 13 languages consisting of Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, English, Assamese, Hindi, and Urdu. 
  • There are four sections in CUET (UG) – 2023
  1. Section IA – 13 Languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu)
  2. Section IB – 19 Languages (French, German, Spanish, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Dogri, Maithili, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Manipuri, Santhali, Russian, Chinese Tibetan, Japanese.)
  3. Section II – 27 Domain-specific Subjects
  4. Section III – General Test
  • Questions will be in the form of multiple choice. 
  • It will be an online-delivered CBT-based test.
  • Aspirants are required to choose any three languages from section IA and IB combined. They must select one of the languages in place of domain-specific subjects.
  • There are 27 subjects in Section II from which a test taker may choose six subjects at most.
  • Section III contains the General Test.
  • The candidate should check the criteria of his/her desired university while choosing languages (3 max) from Sections IA and IB 6 Subjects (max.) from Section II and a General Test from Section III.

The General Test section contains the Static General Knowledge, and the knowledge of domestic as well as international news of the candidate is assessed by current events questions. Below are the subjects for the Current Affairs and General Knowledge sections of the CUET 2023 exam.
