Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next game in the series, will be set around 850 CE Baghdad and is expected to launch in 2023. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was a massive game, and the first full game to come out after it will focus on Basim Ibn Ishaq, who was introduced in Valhalla as Eivor’s former buddy and eventual foe. The announcement was made during the 2022 Ubisoft Forward September Showcase. After a string of open-world, RPG-style games, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage returns to the franchise’s roots with a focus on parkour, stealth, and assassinations placed exactly inside the urban and desert environments of the ancient Middle East.

The Basim players met in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla a gloomy, malevolent man who was secretly the reincarnated embodiment of the Norse deity Loki will be given a far more thorough treatment in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, where he will serve as the game’s protagonist. Young Basim, an orphan and sometimes thief, spent his childhood on the streets of Baghdad, where he was tormented by horrific visions brought on by Loki’s presence.

The future game will go into Basim’s backstory, documenting his trials and tribulations as he comes to terms with his true existence as a reborn Isu and joins the mysterious Hidden Ones, the forerunners of the Assassins. Basim is introduced as the protagonist of assassins creed mirage pc, which is set about twenty years before Valhalla, providing further nuance to the franchise’s most important hero and bolstering the series’ quasi-mythological foundations.

Gameplay

Mirage is an action-adventure stealth game that tries to bring back the feel of the first Assassin’s Creed games by going back to a more linear and story-focused design and taking out some of the role-playing elements from the most recent games in the series. Alamut, the stronghold of the Hidden Ones, and the city of Baghdad are both important parts of the game. Parkour, close-quarters combat, and stealth are major gameplay elements. Players will also be able to do the “Black Box” assassination missions from Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. These missions require players to look around for clues about how to sneak up on their targets and kill them. In his role as a Hidden One, Basim will have access to a vast array of tools and weapons, such as the Assassin’s Hidden Blade and smoke grenades.

Release

We expect to see Assassin’s Creed Mirage in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna.

An “Adults Only” (AO) classification from the Entertainment Software Rating Board was said to have been granted when the game was listed on the Xbox Store one week before its debut, potentially limiting its availability in the United States. The inclusion of “actual gambling” was cited as a factor in this grade. Ubisoft swiftly responded to both claims by saying that the game will not have either “real gambling” or “loot boxes,” as neither has been rated yet.

So, what exactly goes on in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage? In what sort of environment do we find ourselves?

Part of assassins creed mirage pc is set in ninth-century Baghdad, around 20 years before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In this era, the last surviving members of the Order of the Ancients transformed into the Templars.

A screenshot of Assassins Creed Mirage PC has been released, and it features the words “The Forty Thieves Quest,” a reference to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves from One Thousand and One Nights. The fundamental tale is about a poor carpenter named Ali Baba who, despite the fact that the story is sometimes told with significant liberties taken, ends up with the wealth of the Forty Thieves.

Players steer Basim through his thieving career and into the arms of the Hidden Ones. Additional leaks suggest that the story will have players investigating the origins of Loki’s reputation as the Norse God of Mischief.

Roshan, Basim’s tutor, is also a major character who makes several appearances during the game. Basim’s education will pave the way for him to visit Alamut, the Hidden Ones’ stronghold in Northern Iran.

If Assassin’s Creed Mirage has so many connections to Valhalla, it’s hard to understand why Ubisoft didn’t make it a sequel. The game’s narrative director, Sarah Beaulieu, has the answer and is working to make the game more welcoming to newcomers.
